Midlands 7k items pharmacy changes hands after confidential sale

Wednesbury Pharmacy in Sandwell, West Midlands, was sold through a confidential ‘off market’ process just before Christmas, property broker Christie & Co has said.

The standard hours pharmacy, which dispenses an average of 7,600 items per month, is located in the Friar Park area of the market town and had been owned by small pharmacy group Enimed Limited for over five years.

Wednesbury Pharmacy was sold for an undisclosed price to Sukh Gill, director of Sodaskill Limited. Mr Gill also owns Friar Park Chemist, which is “just a few doors up the road” according to Christie & Co.

Carl Steer, director of Christie & Co’s medical division, commented: “It is always pleasing to complete a sale, but when you have been able to perform to the brief a client dictates, all the better.

“We were asked to offer the pharmacy to a shortlist of our best buyers in the area ‘off market’. Within a few weeks, a sale was agreed at the guide price.

“The path to completion was not always a straight or easy one, but both parties exercised great patients and tenacity to cross the line just before Christmas.

“There is a shortage of good quality independent pharmacies being offered for sale in the region. The appetite for pharmacies when they come to the market is very good, and often results in them being placed under offer within a short period, generally speaking. This applies to the whole
